Insanity: many of us men continue to do this

Insanity-do the same thing over and over expecting a different result

Many of us do continue to do this.  We do the same thing and expect different results when it failed the 1st time.  

We need to learn from our mistakes, but we must change things and learn so it does not keep happening again.  Unfortunately we don't change but we expect things to be different.
